President's Letter June 2022

It’s hard to imagine that when I became your President of MWPOM in 2020 that we’d be finishing out our Spring 2022 activities on such a high note! On May 22nd, we finally had our first in person tag sale at the Elks’ Lodge in Natick since the start of the pandemic. Tag Sale Team chairs, Melody Chappel and Mila Nutter, worked hard to manage the uncertainties we still face and a very tight budget. In order to “Make it Work” they implemented some changes such as a sellers renting space, an option to rent tables, bringing their own racks, and handling their own transactions. Personally, this is the first time I’ve been able to successfully do an in person tags sale with the club! Kudos to the Tag Sale team and volunteers at the club table and behind the scenes: Jan Merson, Monicky Marcellino, Kelly Upchurch- Kozlowski, Sarah Pelligrini, Daniela Carrigo and Stephanie Tu. Discussions will continue on the pros and cons of this new system we tried out. You can give us your constructive feedback here:

I’m so looking forward to passing the torch, dancing up a storm, and general just cutting loose with my fellow POMs June 9th at Conrad’s for our Year End Dinner. It has been a challenging two years leading an organization through some extraordinary circumstances. However, we had an extraordinary board that made it possible! I’m excited to take a break and very proud that my VP (and Emotional Support Pixie), Stephanie Tu will be taking over as President! And equally proud and happy that our creative and capable social chair, Monicky Marcellino, will be her VP in the coming club year! I definitely feel that after steering the club through some treacherous waters, I am leaving the club in amazing hands to usher MWPOM into better times. See below for links for tickets, voting for the board, and Member of the Year! We hope to see you there! Tickets ($20) for YED will be closing up Wednesday, don’t delay!
