Volunteers needed for Library Project

Did you know that April is National Multiple Birth Awareness month?

As a club, we want to do our part to raise awareness of not just our club, but our National Organization, how we support parents of multiples across the country, and not just locally. National, otherwise known as Multiples of America, helps support all the state-wide clubs across the country.

One of the ways that we show our appreciation to National is our Library Project. Originally created by current Vice President, Meredith Fitzgerald, it is one of the easiest ways that members can volunteer to help our club with very minimal time commitment.

Help us reach our goal of 10 libraries this year!

This is also a great opportunity to bond with another twin mom in your neighborhood while getting your kids out into the library atmosphere.

We're interested in having our local libraries do some type of display that features fiction and non-fiction books about twins and multiples. We will supply the libraries with business cards, brochures, and other marketing materials for our organization. We can provide you links to print out yourself. Most libraries will have someone in charge of displays, and however they want to showcase us, we are grateful!

Here is all you have to do:

-Contact the library director, person in charge of displays, or Children's Librarian

-Ask them if we can do a display in honor of April being Multiple Birth Awareness Month (any time during April)

-If they can’t do a display see if we can leave information about our club on their community board –or whatever space they have for local groups

-Let me know which library you are doing a display at and what kind of signage the library will need. (by email or sign-up sheet with contact info)

-Materials can be made available (brochures, business cards, past issues of the Notebook).

-Make sure to take a photo of your display (with you and/or your twins in it as well would be nice too!) and

submit it to: newsletter@mwpom.org so we can feature the library displays in the May blog postings.
